English, Spanish & Italian remote video interpreter

ENGLISH, SPANISH AND ITALIAN REMOTE VIDEO INTERPRETER

If you’re organizing an online event with English, Spanish and Italian speakers, a remote video interpreter can help all participants get the most out of it. It also has fewer associated costs than in-person interpreting.

What is remote interpreting?

A remote video interpreter works in a separate location to the audience and speaker. This service can be performed as remote simultaneous translation, consecutive interpreting or in liaison interpreting mode.

To work remotely, the interpreter requires a quiet, isolated environment and good equipment. They use a professional headset and microphone, Ethernet cable, tablet (or other secondary device) and backup connection.

What equipment do I need for remote interpretation?

When it comes to remote interpreting, the interpreter will provide all necessary equipment. You just need to choose from one of the many remote interpreting platforms available and create the event link. While some platforms are free, those that support simultaneous translation and create virtual booths (such as Zoom) often charge a fee.

But don’t worry. If you don’t have a Zoom PRO account, I can include complimentary hours in your quote and create the event link. Alternatively, I can recommend another platform offering similar features at a very competitive rate. Again, I can take care of the organization of your remote event.

Needless to say, it’s best if all event participants have an external microphone or headphones with a built-in microphone. This allows the remote video interpreter to hear what is being said clearly. However, with the exception of highly technical events, good PC audio is perfectly acceptable, as long as the speaker is isolated from outside noise.

In which contexts can remote interpretation be useful?

Remote interpretation is a flexible service suitable for a variety of events, including conferences, lectures, masterclasses, conventions, congresses and debates. Depending on the event type, remote simultaneous or remote consecutive interpreting may be more appropriate.

A remote service can reduce the costs usually associated with in-person interpreting, especially with regard to interpreting equipment. However, there are some situations that are unsuitable for remote interpreting. For the following cases, I recommend an in-person interpreting service:

  • In very practical settings, such as workshops where the teacher is constantly moving, and there is no sound insulation, wireless microphones, or cameras capable of framing everything.
  • In noisy environments, where the speaker’s audio picks up echoes or other distracting noises.
  • For highly confidential environments. In these cases, it’s impossible to monitor all connected users to ensure they’ve not recorded part of the event. This is especially important given new technologies’ ability to use recorded material.

My English, Italian and Spanish remote interpretation service is for you if:

  • You’re organizing a conference, convention, congress, interview, business meeting, or other type of event. You want everyone to participate effortlessly as they speak and listen to speeches.
  • You’re organizing an event with participants who speak different languages, but have a limited budget. You may prefer to hire a remote video interpreter rather than an in-person interpreting service.
  • Some, but not all, of your attendees understand English well. You want everyone to be able to participate equally in your event and don’t want to exclude anyone.
  • Some event participants can communicate well in English and wish to deliver their presentation in English, but not all speakers are comfortable doing so. Opting for simultaneous interpretation allows all participants to express themselves fully in their native language.
  • You know Spanish or Italian, or your counterparts have a decent level of English, but you have very specific goals. You do not want to risk missing any of the details.
  • You don’t have a good level of Italian and/or Spanish, and your counterparts don’t have a good command of English. You want communication to go smoothly.

Are you the right Italian, English and Spanish remote video interpreter for my event?

You’re right to ask, there are many other competent, skilled interpreters offering Italian, English and Spanish video interpreting services! My professional services are the perfect choice for you because:

  • I regularly perform English-to-Spanish remote conference interpreting for master’s courses and specialist psychology conferences. I’ve performed English-Spanish remote interpretation at every edition of Itaca Formación’s Psychosis and Third Generation Therapies Master’s Degrees since 2021. I’ve also performed it at every edition of Contacto Contextual’s Ibero-American Congress of Contextual Behavioral Science.
