ENGLISH-TO-SPANISH INTERPRETER IN MILAN
Do you need an English-to-Spanish interpreter in Milan or another location to orally translate between the two languages and facilitate communication between attendees at an event you’re organizing?
An interpreter can help you break down language and cultural barriers. When all attendees can effortlessly make and listen to speeches in their mother tongue, everyone can participate equally and get the most from your event.
I’m Eleonora Monoscalco, an experienced English-to-Spanish interpreter based in Milan with over thirty verifiable positive reviews.
How can hiring an English-to-Spanish interpreter help ensure my event is a success?
If you’re organizing an international event with many attendees who have a working knowledge of English, you may feel you don’t need a professional English-Spanish interpreter. However, a professional interpreter will ensure all participants can express themselves freely in their native language. By avoiding communication problems, you’ll help everyone get the most out of the event.
Are your English-to-Spanish interpretation services suitable for my specific event?
I get it. Every professional field has its own terminology and jargon, and different types of events have their own procedures and formats. When booking an interpreter for an event you want to make sure they understand your field.
I’ve worked as an interpreter at:
- Conferences
- Lectures
- Conventions and congresses
- Interviews
- Workshops
- Festivals
- Trade fairs and exhibitions
- Business meetings
- Debates
- Weddings
- Medical appointments
- Attorney-client meetings
- And many more public and private events.
My main area of expertise as an English-to-Spanish interpreter is psychology. Since 2021, I have worked as an English-Spanish simultaneous interpreter at lectures, conferences and workshops for the master’s course in Psychosis and Third Generation Therapies, run by Itaca Formación. I’ve also interpreted for interviews with field professionals, in collaboration with the Psara Ediciones publishing house.
I have also performed English-Spanish simultaneous translation at every edition of the Ibero-American Congress of Contextual Behavioral Science, organized by Contacto Contextual. I also have several regular clients in the fields of psychology and psychiatry.
Other fields I’ve worked in as an English-to-Spanish interpreter include:
- Medicine and pharmacology
- Marketing and B2B
- Hair and beauty
- Travel and tourism
- Food and wine
- Publishing
- Environment and sustainability
- Technology
- History
- Politics and European affairs
- Religion and theology
- Feminism and LGBTQIAP+.
Which event have you enjoyed most as an English-to-Spanish interpreter?
All my clients and assignments are special to me. If I had to choose a series of events, I’d say the master’s degree for psychologists in Third Generation Therapies and each edition of the Ibero-American Congress of Contextual Behavioral Science by Contacto Contextual. If I had to mention two single events, the first would be Engrama’s interview with Noam Chomsky (2021), during which I led the English<>Spanish consecutive translation. Secondly, I have to mention the Ukraine Peace Conference in Malta in 2023, where I delivered English-to-Spanish simultaneous translation.
What types of English-to-Spanish interpreting services do you offer?
I am a very flexible professional. Depending on your needs, you can choose from the following services:
- English-to-Spanish simultaneous interpreting. I’ll translate the speaker’s words into Spanish and the audience’s interventions into English (or vice versa) while they are still speaking. If your event is longer than one hour (sixty minutes), I’ll work with a trusted colleague to guarantee the highest quality service. Find out more.
- English-to-Spanish consecutive interpreting. I’ll take notes and translate everything the speaker says into Spanish once they’ve finished speaking (at intervals of about three to four minutes). I’ll then translate your interlocutor’s reply into English. Find out more.
- English-to-Spanish liaison interpreting. I translate what you say into Spanish and vice-versa. From trade shows and business meetings to doctor’s appointments and public service meetings, this service will ensure everything goes smoothly. Find out more.
- English-to-Spanish chuchotage (whispered interpreting). I simultaneously translate what the speaker says by “whispering” the translation directly into your ear. This is a more cost-effective solution compared to simultaneous interpreting, and is carried out for just one person or a very small group of people.
- English-to-Spanish remote interpreting. I interpret the speaker’s words into English or Spanish simultaneously for the audience, or consecutively, if the speakers don’t speak each other’s language. I’m KUDO PRO and Ablio platform-certified and offer simultaneous, consecutive and telephone interpreting remotely. Find out more.

Where did you learn English and Spanish?
I started learning foreign languages as a child
, before attending a language high school where I began to study more seriously. After finishing high school in 2012, I enrolled in a BA Language and Intercultural Mediation course (English and Spanish) at the University of Rome (La Sapienza). In addition to formal study, I learned English and Spanish through podcasts, TV, books and articles, as well as regular Skype sessions with native speakers in the UK, US, South Africa, Mexico, Spain, Venezuela, and other English- and Spanish-speaking countries.
Another important experience was my year spent at Bath University (UK) as part of the Erasmus program. I passed my third-year exams with flying colors and had many useful linguistic and cultural experiences. Highlights included joining several university societies, spending Christmas with an English family in London, making international friends, and working as a volunteer cashier at Oxfam for several months.
After returning to Italy, I finished my BA, before going on to earn an MA in Conference Interpreting at Forli/Bologna University in 2018, with English and Spanish as my chosen foreign languages.
In 2019, I spent a semester in Seville with Erasmus, during which I carried out my first English-Spanish interpreting and translation assignments, and gathered other useful linguistic and cultural experiences – participating in several language exchanges, spending holidays with Spanish families in Cordoba and Malaga, getting to know people from Spain and Latin America as friends, and working as a volunteer cashier for Oxfam.
Although I now live in Italy, I continue to hold regular language and cultural exchange sessions with native English and Spanish speakers in Milan and elsewhere (online). I also speak Spanish at home on a daily basis with my native-speaker partner.
