About me

ABOUT ME - ELEONORA MONOSCALCO

I’m Eleonora Monoscalco – a professional Italian interpreter offering interpreting services in Milan and around the world (remotely and in-person), in English, Italian and Spanish.

I was born in 1993 in a small town in Lazio (Italy). From the beginning, I knew life would take me far from my hometown.
I have always been passionate about foreign languages and cultures, and studied these subjects with tenacity and dedication in order to realize my dream of being admitted to one of the top Italian universities for Interpreting and Translation (Forlì/Bologna), and becoming an interpreter.

After spending a year at Bath University (UK) as an Erasmus student and gaining my MA in Conference Interpreting from Forlì/Bologna University, I moved to Spain to work for EuroMind Projects S.L. as an interpreter, translator and project assistant.

Eleonora Monoscalco graduated in conference interpreting from the University of Forlì/Bologna. She now works as a consecutive and simultaneous interpreter in Milan, Italy.

In September 2019, I moved back to Italy to start offering my interpreting services in Milan to attend a specialist MA course in Medicine and Pharmacology for Interpreters and Translators, offered by CTI (Communication Trend Italia), after being awarded a scholarship. They chose me as one of their best students for that academic year. Later, I further added to my knowledge of specialist subjects by completing a Medical/Pharmaceutical Translation and Revision internship at CTI, and working as a part-time in-house translator at Freeda Media (Milan), where I translated feminist and LGBTQIAP+-related content in Italian, English and Spanish on a daily basis. Last but not least, in 2022, I honed my skills in medicine and pharmacology by working part-time as an in-house translator for a well-known CRO (contract research organization) in Milan. There, I translated and proofread clinical trial documents from English into Italian and vice-versa daily.

Finally, whenever I can, I attend new courses and webinars to ensure that I am always up to date. Just a few examples of my continuing professional development include the specialist course in Legal and Commercial Translation offered by SSIT Pescara, the webinars on SEO translation, localization and copywriting by Translastars, and the webinars on personal branding and on the latest technologies in the field of interpreting by techforword.

English-to-Italian medical translation services by Eleonora Monoscalco, translator and interpreter in Milan, Italy

Throughout my career I have offered interpreting services in Milan and elsewhere at conferences, lectures, meetings, congresses and conventions, trade fairs, interviews and workshops, festivals, business meetings, debates, tours, doctor-patient interactions, and other public/private events. Thanks to my well-developed, customized terminology and thorough preparation, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of fields: from photography to new technologies, from psychology to food and wine, etc. I believe my added values as an interpreter (and as a person) are my passion for my job, my willingness to never stop learning and my empathy towards other people and animals.

I have lived in Milan since 2019, where I work as an English, Spanish, and Italian interpreter with agencies, companies and private clients. I am available to interpret both face-to-face and remotely. I am an Ablio remote certified interpreter, as well as a KUDO PRO remote interpreter, and I have the necessary equipment to provide high-quality remote interpreting services.

During my career as an interpreter, I have interpreted for several top-level clients, including the Ukraine Peace Formula Talks (Malta 2023), Don Perignon, Zegna, the Wyoming Business Council, the Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castile and Leon, the Bergamo Chamber of Commerce, Heineken, Dior, Amazon, Tour España, the Association for Nursing in Milan, Feltrinelli Foundation, Visit Quito and Moroccanoil.

The trade fairs where I have worked as an interpreter include Tuttofood (Milan), Salone del Mobile/EuroCucina (Milan), Marmomac (Verona), Cibus (Parma), CPHI Worldwide (Milan), Tanexpo (Bologna), Rimini Wellness, Ecomondo (Rimini), Sigep (Rimini) and International Dental Show (Cologne, Germany).

Although I work mainly in Milan and Lombardy, I occasionally travel and carry out assignments within Italy and abroad. More specifically, I have interpreted in Lazio (Rome), Veneto (Venice and Verona), Piedmont (provinces of Turin and Biella), Emilia Romagna (Bologna, Parma, Rimini, Cremona, Ravenna and Piacenza), Spain (Seville, Bilbao and Zaragoza), Malta and Germany.

Outside of work, I am a very dynamic person. Besides languages and interpreting, my interests range from Spanish music to photography. In my free time I enjoy participating in language exchanges, studying psychology and going out for a meal or a pizza with my family and friends. Finally, I am a huge fan of technology, because it allows me to create content for social media, practice languages and meet new people. You can find my profile on the websites of international groups (such as Translators in Italy and International Women of Milan), as well as on Conversation Exchange and BlablaCar, on which I boast a 5/5 rating achieved by interacting with people of different nationalities and backgrounds, aged 20-70.
